靳羽西曾被《纽约时报》评选为美国最受欢迎的50个“女性钻石王老五”之一。她曾经这样说：我认为女人最重要的是经济独立。我现在最大的自由是，我可以从自己的口袋里掏钱买书，买我喜欢的衣服，这是女人最大的自由。现在许多年轻的女孩子需要什么东西就对她的男朋友或爱人说我喜欢这个我喜欢那个，她们是不自由的。我以前曾经嫁过一个很有钱的男人，可是他没有给过我一毛钱。
女孩子大概都受了“小鸟依人”的蛊惑，总认为自己将来是需要依靠某个人才能生活的，尤其想“靠”的就是男人。你可以长得像只小鸟一样娇小可人，这没有什么不好，但是千万别长成一只“笼子里的金丝雀”。

Another benefit is that the companies which contribute a large sum of money to support the underprivileged people would have high possibility to get tax exemption from the government, which would again lead to increase of net profit. Therefore, I doubt whether there is pure altruism.

It is participating in sports activities that enables us to learn from failure, which is very necessary and meaningful. During the period of playing sports, it is very common to win or lose. Although winning pleases us, we should not lose optimism even if facing failure. For example, last year, our school basketball team had a competition with St John boy’s high, because of our careless, we lost. After the game, our coach reviewed the game video with us so that we found a lot of weakness in our strategy. Thanks to the analysis and advice from our coach, we finally figure out solutions to deal with the unique strategy of our competitors. In the following 6 months, our coach spared no efforts to train the team members and helped us to upgrade defending skills. Fortunately, we won the game this semester. In fact, we encounter with difficulties in daily life all the time. When facing pressure and misunderstandings, we should not feel frustrated and pessimistic. Every time after I watched a theme from the programs, my curiosity was aroused and I have been more willing to search more relevant information in the library and online. And best of all, the programs were in English edition, which enables me to increase the vocabulary and improve overall reading and listening skills.
