   “We do have many talented artists, but almost all ofthem are workingfor state-owned troupes, where there hasn’t been cut-throat competition,” said Gu Xin, Chairman of the China Oriental Performing Arts Group (China Oriental), who is credited with suc-cessfullytransforming his groupfrom a stagnant performingtroupeto a profitable one.
