Late on May 15, rescuers announcedthat the Lixian-Wenchuan Highwaywas finally reopened. It was the firstrepaired road leading to WenchuanCounty at the epicenter of the May 12 earth-quake in Sichuan Province, which allowedrescue equipment and relief materials to ar-rive in Wenchuan by land.
