Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy of percutaneous vertebroplasty in the treatment of senile osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. Methods 18 cases of senile osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures were selected from July 2015 to July 2017 in our hospital. For this clinical study, there are 23 vertebrae in 18 patients.10 thoracic vertebrae and 13 lumbar vertebrae.Percutaneous vertebroplasty was performed for all patients.Postoperative activity and visual rating scale were evaluated and compared with preoperative scores.Meanwhile, patients were followed up after discharge. Results After percutaneous vertebroplasty in 18 patients, all the 23 vertebral bodies were performed successfully.Preoperative visual perception score was(7.2±0.9),and postoperative was only(2.1±1.2).Most patients had pain disappeared within 24 h after operation, and the activity ability was significantly higher than that before operation. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 12 months of follow-up,the total satisfaction of patients with surgical treatment was 94.40%.Conclusion Percutaneous vertebroplasty is relatively simple and effective in the treatment of senile osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures,so the effect is more ideal. It is recommended to use this method in clinical treatment.
